There was that build that was run in Hot Rod & a couple mags several years back... They built a 4.3 with what I believe were swirl port heads, and it peaked around 300hp. I think with a bigger cam and Vortecs it could hit close to 350, but I don't think it would be very streetable. There is a marine 4.3 Vortec intake that allows an injector rail/injectors so you can upgrade for more power :)

since giving the malibu to my bro i have ventured out and am currently in the process of building up a 4.3 for a s10 blazer. i'm trying to convience my brother (the new guy) to do the same. right now weather permiting he's starting to put the 3.8 back together. like stated previously it has a comp cam,gm performance intake, solid lifters, double roller timing chain, and a HUGE edlebrock carb that need replaced with a smaller one like the 390 holley everyone recommended. and ya it's a 229.

Edelbrock sells an intake for these 229 engines. But I dont know what years thier V6 intake fits. Anyone know the specifics on which of the V6's the Edelbrock intake fits? Anyone actually have one?

If the specs on the Edelbrock manifold are the same as the GM Performance Parts 4 barrel intake, then it should fit the 200, 229 and the 4.3lt (262) V6 engines.

I thought I read they only fit up to a certain year though. But I could be wrong (probably am).
