Big time brake help needed

I am the proud owner of a '79 Bu now, and before i bought the car, the lady who owned it told me that it had no brakes, and she was not lying to me, when i put the car in reverse, it had NO pedal, her brother said I just need calipers and rotors up front and it'd stop, but I feel like there is more to it, what do you guys think??

hard do say with that discription... does i have fluid? if so is it leaking anywhere? if no leaks, i would try to bleading them out first.
