Bigger Caliper?

Does anybody know what stock calipers weigh?

this isn't saying much for these guys, but i know more than few using drums all the way around.....going in the 10's :shock: they say its just as "fun" to slow they car down as it is getting it to 125+

I can weigh a caliper tommorow if I remember. I have some laying around. Id say at most they are 7 pounds.

I know a girl with a 79 El Camino and she has drums on all four corners I'd be affraid, she said they get hot and they fade really easily.

You could get drums all around in 79? I had a '69 C-10 with a warm 350 and 4 wheel manual drums, not fun. You guys can have 'em.

I don't think so. I don't think any 78-87 A/G body had front drums. If she's got front drums, chances are they're not factory. You got manual brakes standard in '79, maybe that's what she has. RPO J50 power brakes was an option. It was an option in '80, too, but it ws installed on 100% of the Caminos sold.
