I asked becasue the best thing for ring break in is ATF.
Motor oil is made to float metal over metal. The AFT will
allow the rings to cut and seat. The first few minutes (seconds)
is key to proper ring seal. Although you may have heads
that are in question too. A compression and leak down test
would tell you alot about what is going on inside the motor.

hey thanks, so, if I do a leak down test and it loses pressure then I know it's either rings or valves, but if it doesn't it could be the studs in the heads?
