Crown Vic 8.8 rear installation is a success

I used a 1995 Crown Vic rear. The upper control arm ears are very close to the G body location. The lowers are good if you cut off the shock mounts and add a bracket to the back. Same with the coil spring perches. I ended up sending mine to Quick Performance and for $225 they installed the Moser 9" ends (GM style flange pattern PN 7900FM I provided these) , narrowed it to the stock width and installed their G body specific coil spring perches and lower control arm brackets.
I used UPR upper control arm bushings (actually a mono ball type)
98-04 2 wheel drive Blazer rear brakes. I modified Blazer parking brake cables so I my parking brake works.
Ford Racing gear set with 31 spline Cobra carrier
I also made an adapter to mount a Chevy 12 bolt cover on it so it looks like a Chevy rear from the back

This is the $150 Crown Vic rear I started with. All I used was the housing. Everything else got scrapped.

Nice work, I really dig the 12 bolt cover. I snagged a few of these on a sale at the pick-a-part yard and plan on cutting them down to use Mustang or Ranger/Explorer axles. I already have a couple of those for donor gears & posi units. Just trying to decide what lower control arm mounts to use...

Thank you for the compliments. I believe the shipping was like $175. In the end, the shipping cost more than the labor but was well worth it.
I lost track of the costs but it is still probably a lot less than a Moser 12 bolt.
