So i've got a '84 monte carlo and am contemplating gettin rid of the mechanical fan and replacing it with a electric fan out of a mid 90's taurus. My one question is where do i find a hold down for the radiator? Currently the big *ss fan shroud holds the top of the radiator. What have those who have done this conversion done to solve this problem?

i would seriously recommend not doing what you are talking about. Electric fans never cool as good. A good factory style clutch fan cools the best and doesn't use much power to turn.
You need CFM through the rad and likely the taurus fan won't pull near enough for a v8
