Fitting the cage for short people?

I am 5' 4" and if I place the hoop were the frame rail widens out my seat will be to far from the the hoop to be NHRA legal. If I move the hoop up to the seat the frame isn't wide enough to weld to. How do I fix this? Do I get some 2x2 square tube and weld it to the frame were the hood needs to be or is there another way?

These car's frames need all the help they can get.

If possible , continue the boxing from where the factory stopped , for the full length of the channel.

Just plan ahead on fuel line, brakes lines , body mount access etc.
