ARP calls for assembly lube and 62ftlbs, local guru says loctite, which I would guess might not give an accurate torque reading. SO...whats does everybody do???

Well I've built & installed a lot of engines and done bunches of clutches and have "never" used lock-tite on a flywheel bolt,as a matter of fact I don't believe I've ever used assembly lube on any flywheel/flex plate bolts either,they have however always been
"washed" in a greasy old bird bath parts cleaner that's not been serviced since Hector was a pup except for adding a gallon or two of diesel fuel when ever the pump would start to whine,there's you're lube,and of course chasing the threads is always a good

I subscribe to the German system of measuring torque. It's called the Gutten Tieght Method. It never fails! 
ARP is usually very specific with their instructions. They want clean threads and an oiled bolt so you get accurate torque readings. They should never back out if installed correctly. We run the 12pt ARP flexplate bolts.
I've used arps lube with their bolts. Its been in the same motor for 11 years now with no problems. I've disassembled it a few times and they've always been tight.
Flywheel bolts should be installed with star lock washers. I have never had any back out and never used loctite.
