we have 28 spline moser axles in our cars along with 99 and up s-10 center sections. we buy the whole rear end from our local salvage yard for $50 bucks, cheap and plentiful.

I've always heard that the 7.5 is fine as long as it just spins, its when you put stickies and get it to hook is when you start running into issues, axles snapping, pinions sheering off.. Mine went because an axle bearing let go and all the metal cylinders broke the teeth off my ring gear...lucky I guess, I was able to coast down the street to my buddies house and park it.

This seems to be one of those (ripleys beleive it or not) type subjects..... I personally have beaten the snot out of several of these rears... Never on slicks on a regular basis tho! But i did have a 85 monte ss
that had a mild 350. Dry pavement doughnuts all day long baby....... Never broke! While i will say if you are going to spend $***.xx on bulding one? Why would you? You will be money ahead to invest in a better rear. Maybe save your $$$$$ and baby your 7.5 you have now and build a stronger rear.... Unless you can buy one for cheap $$$$ allready built and i mean cheap!

A wise man once said a 7.5 is like dateing a hot chick that has HIV.... You might get away with it for awhile but sooner or later it will bite you!

I ran 13.20's with slicks and a 2400 stall and no problems, but I did a burnout on the street once and a spider gear let go about a mile down the road, luckily it didn't cause much damage or lock up on the road while i was going 55. Coulda caused a bad accident...

Start at the rear and build a car forward. You'll save lots of time and money in the long run!
