i'd be pretty satisfied with the 12's... for a little while lol. so 112 is about as tight as i can get away with for the nitrous? thanks for the info. hopefully i'll trip over a vortech motor laying in my driveway in the morning lol. the plan right now....

vortech (stock truck motor w/beehives)
rpm airgap
750 vac holley (till i can afford a new mech. sec)
some 1 3/4 header 3" exhaust dumped before axle
random 4k stall (recomendations on brand?)
welded spider gears in the stock 7.5 (see how quick i can snap the little bastards)
v6 springs all around
pretty healthy cam with a 112 LSA
125 shot.

sound like solid 12's... maby low 12's?

bring on some more ideas

If you go with an actual Vortec motor, it's unlikely it'll be drilled for a fuel pump pushrod. I have an '88 350 that's drilled, and has all the provisions for a roller already machined.

i'd say shipping from michigan to ky would be a b*tch on something that heavy. that and i dont have anything against an electric fuel pump. are there positives to a mechanical pump over an electronic one? other than probably cost? this is a budget build. by the time i buy a bare block, all bearings, rotating assy., heads, ect i'll be in the hole alot farther than if i just went out and got a low mileage vortech motor from a salvage yard. thanks alot tho.

i was actually toying with the idea of trying to trade my n2o kit for a vortech motor.... depends on if i start getting some overtime at work or not.

lol  gotcha now. i'm pretty sure i want a roller motor, just becase it's going to get driven ALOT, figured it would be easier just to pick one up complete. cant wait to get this thing running. trying to find seeds for a money tree. because i need a whole lot of stuff

thanks :) i have alot of work to do. gotta bust the AC/Heater box out of the engine bay, clean up some wiring. weld some spider gears or find a locker for a 7.5 and alot more. all this stuff adds up. hopefully by fall i'll have her running decent.

with the combo i've pieced together (im my head lol) with a good cam on a set of slicks, at a track with less than 300 DA is there a chance of hitting 12's N/A before the bottle? if there is i may be looking to ditch the nitrous to get the car running sooner. any imput? a recap of the combo incase you dont want to backtrack of i missed something

4K stall (th350)
4.10 gear
28x10.5 slick
9.0-1 ish 350 with fac. stock vortec heads (better springs)
750 vac. holley
rpm airgap intake (vortec specific of course)
and a max effort (for the combo) N/A cam if i can run 12's off the bottle. or a good cam with a wide lsa if i cant run 12s on this combo witout the bottle. what do you guys think? i can live with running 12's this year specially off the bottle. questions are probably getting old and repetitive but i dont know anything about chevy's or what to expect from them. thanks.
