I bhave a 1980 Malibu. I am wanting to do a big block with a manual transmission most likely muncie, and I need some help. Does anyone know where to get big block headers that will fit with a manual transmission?
Are stock malibu 4 speeds cable, hydrolic etc? Did the malibus come with consoles that had 4 speeds also?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Far as headers and mechanical linkage, last I'd looked (a LONG time ago) nobody had them, but I never planned on a BBC so I've never paid much attention. All G-Bodies had mechanical linkage: 1 bracket bolted to the frame with 3 sheetmetal bolts that held a ballstud, and another is threaded into the block directly above the oil filter (on an SBC), they're the pivot points for the bellcrank. 1 rod goes to the clutch pedal, the other pushes on the clutch fork. G-Bodies have a specific bellhousing, and most (as in I've maybe seen a couple 168-tooth capable bellhousings EVER that had the correct ballstud location in the bellhousing) require a 153-tooth flywheel. There was never a console to fit around the shifter, it's always been separate from the shifter.

Hey Guys,
If I'm not mistaken MeatDrapes said that Sanderson has a set of headers that will work with a Big Block and mechanical clutch linkage,
convert to hydraulic and you should be able to run most of the others,
I've always liked mechanical linkages but I have a 92 Chev pick up and a 92 Camaro that both have hydraulic and they work pretty good,my Malibu is an 81,was a factory V-6,3spd,now a smallblock w/an M-21,it
has mechanical linkage and will stay that way because that's why I bought it to begin with,I'm getting ready to start foolin around with another one (more later) that will be a 6spd/hydraulic,like I need another project but things keep poppin up saying here I am Dave,Grab Me!! Could be worse I guess!!! Later,KillerDave
