How is the Wilwood kit for G Bodies?

This question was asked on another message board and was wondering if anyone on this board has had experience with the Wilwood 140-2508 kit. It is a 4 piston caliper and vented rotors.

How would this kit compare to a 12" B body conversion in terms of braking power? I will be getting new tubular uppers and lowers (probably the Global West TLC arms) to go along with my QA1 coil overs. This kit looks like it comes complete, but has a little less rotor diameter than say the B body swap, not sure which way would be better.

I will drive this on the street also.

I like the sound of that.

What rotors do you have on the front? Stock diameter rotors?

they are 12" rotors, actually for a 3rd gen camaro i think. the rotor hub is a quarter inch wider than the stock malibu rotor though. after i put those on, the front wheels rubbed the inner fenders a tad when i hit a hard bump. i just cut a small part out and they fit fine. im sure there is a better choice of rotor though.

My dad has wilwood fronts on his Monte. Stops better and weighs less!

Thank you all. I heard their kit does help reduce some weight in the front which is nice. I was just wondering which has better stopping ability, a typical B body conversion using camaro rotors (12" rotors) or a kit from either Wilwood or even Baer that appear to use a smaller rotor close to the size of the stock rotor, thus allowing the use of the stock spindle.

Well, my father's 3150lb. Monte stops from 150MPH in 600 feet with no chute. It has stock drums in the rear with the Wilwood G-body kit up front. You do the math.

Now that is what I like to hear. Thanks for the info, looks like I will be ordering the kit this weekend.

Thanks again.
