How to widen front track width

l run the 3.5" wide frontrunners and would like the tires to be closer towards the fender lips, what have some of yall done to widen the front track? Im sure i could find some circle track parts or some crap to do it, but figure maybe some of you have done this with different a arms or spindles, etc. I like the stock height of the car with a bb in it, so lowering it is not an option. 1 of my primary tubes of the headers wraps around the frame rail on each side and limits my turning radius as is, so it would help that as well as stablility. Thanks for any help

I have not tried this yet, but am trying to solve the same problem...Some of the IMCA mods use 1st gen camaro lower a arms (1.75 longer) on a metric front frame. I don't know how well the spring pocket lines up but apparently it's close enough to work on a dirt car. The bushings are a little closer together so you have to leave a bit of a gap when pressing them in. Allstar makes a tubular lower with Heims that would give you a little more adjustment for both trac width and caster.

The easiest solution I found for the uppers are the SPC, they have a wide adjustment range and can be ordered with different length adjusting sleeves. Thay also allow you to bolt the cross shaft to the frame without shims for more header clearance.

Who is SPC? I have header clearance probs as it is, so that may help. When you say they have sleeves to ajust the length, how does that work? Can you widen the track with them or not? Thanks again.l

SPC arms are available from SC&C:

the arm itself is adjustable for length rather than using shims, which would allow you to run the shaft against the frame for a little more header clearance. They will allow you to widen the front track width, but you still need longer lower arms for this to work. I am looking at these nova arms (1.75 longer per side) which use heims and spacers:

http://www.allstarperformance.com/product.htm?prod=700

Speedway sells a metric front end kit with nova size arms as well, but they are a stock piece and cost nearly as much and the tubular. It is my understanding that some forms of dirt racing require a stock lower arm, even if it is not the one origional to the frame. Either way, it looks like the Nova arms can be used on a G body frame.

Check with site sponsors TRZ Motorsports as well. I think they can make you anything you want, and still keep the spring location in the right spot.
