throw 2-3 qts. of transmission fluid in it..!!! 
sounds like you might have a lifter not wanting to pump up fully due to possible varnish build up restriction.. Running the transmission fluid threw it ,, as it's thinner and has detergants in it to clean and will get in and pump the lifter/'s up and remove the varnish.. Run it at operating temp in the motor for 10-20 miles and then due an oil change with regular oil..
