Hi, I have a 1980 Malibu with a 383ci sbc. I was just wondering what the best and easiest way is to change the motor mounts? Also, should I lift the engine using a cherry picker or put a jack with a wide flat piece of wood under the oil pan to lift the engine up?

Thanks for the help in advance!

you will want to lift up the whole front end of the car so that the front wheels are hanging. This gives you more room to get to the bolts on the bottom of the motor mounts with an extension and a swivel socket.

I wouldn't take the chance of putting pressure on the oil pan, last thing you want is to crush the oil pan. Use a cherry picker.
