it could probably work just fine if I don't even worry about the steel hump and just mount a plastic one to the floor. It won't be under much stress with just the boot moving around. This might be the option I take.

So, on factory manual cars, there is more than the plastic piece linked in the first post? The plastic goes over the metal piece that doober shows? I thought all there was, was the plastic "hump"

Anyone ever tried a 70-81 F-body metal shifter hump?

It looks very similar to a g-body one, anybody think it will fit? It's not too badly priced for a brand new one.

rjleiker.....

Here's a couple on eBay (one NOS, one used).....considerably cheaper than Keisler :

Any aftermarket parts dealer that handles sheet metal parts should have these pieces...will they work.....I dunno.

So you're saying that the 70-81 F-body hump will fit the 78-87 g-body tunnels? Cause that would be awesome.

I said........"I dunno" if they'd work.

It's hard to get a good all around picture of them on-line to compare with a G body hump.
A person with decent fabrication skills can make just about anything work on some things.
I'll have to take some pictures of the G body hump I have and post them.
