possible bad ecu 3.8 buick

runs great but when i plug in the 4 wire connector from the dizzy it kills the car i i get no spark,when its disconnected it fire right up i put more base timing and it runs fine,i swapped the prom chip in the ecu but it did the same thing anyone run into this problem the car has a new coil,module.Just want to get rid of the check engine light.

Have you checked the trouble codes to see what is set?

have a 83 cutlass, seems similar but can't find the diagnostic port for the brain. any ideas? mine is the 3.8 buick motor too

Should be under the dash below the radio I think.
