I just had an email add from Jegs this morning and Wilwood now has a combo metering valve with a low pressure sender and adjustable rear proportioning!! All
for only $59.95 I think! Well I need to replumb mine anyway,we'll see what happens!
You might notice this unit was mentioned by malijuice earlier. The p/n is 260-11179.
Be aware that there is NO
metering function to this 'combo' valve- it does just as you said: proportions (and isolates) front to rear, and has a pressure differential switch to illuminate a warning light if there's a malfunction.
It should be a good addition to your set-up.
Just an option:
If you- for whatever reason- wanted to retain a
metering function, I'd suggest you ditch your old combo valve. Then purchase a
disc/disc combo valve that was OE on GM cars. Then, do as I outlined above to disable the proportioning function and then add your adjustable proportioning valve.
When selecting the OE combo valve, you should try matching it as closely as you can to
your vehicles weight bias. This is no easy feat, but you should be able to get close. One problem is finding all the front to rear weights to compare to your car's front to rear weight.
Another problem is that an OE disc/disc combo valve's metering was calibrated to different calipers and different rotor diameters, tire diameter, tire compound and width, suspension and shock valving, etc. so the whole thing is iffy- at best, IMHO.
I would just use the Wilwood unit alone if it were me.
Good luck.
