I have a few questions about the rear brakes on my 1980 Malibu with a ford 9" (Big Ford New Style).
1. Would you guys recommend I convert the rear drums brakes to disc brakes? The car goes 10.4 secs. in the 1/4 mile and with nitrous about 9.8 secs. If you recommend disc brakes, disregard the drum brake questions.
2. If I stick with drums brakes, where can I find the drums, hardware, shoes and wheel cylinders that are on it right now? The width of the shoes are 2 7/16", on the outside of the drum it has the stampings; KH-93966, W-2, D10A, max diameter 10.060", Ford. The center section says Ford 1991 on it. The axles are moser with 5/8"x18 studs, bolt pattern is 5x4.75". Also, the axle flange diameter is greater than
3. If I go with the rear disc brake conversion kit which one should I go with that has the parking brake capability?
4.Also, since most of the kits don't come with 5/8" holes for the studs, can I just drill them out or are there kits out there that are reasonably priced that are already drilled for 5/8" studs?
Thanks in advance!!
