my rear down bars go just to the inside of the frame rails. my rear frame rails have been replaced with 2x4 tube

Has any one welded to the sheet metal insted of the frame?

Not NHRA legal, not does it have any strength. The floor pans have no strangth where as a unibody car has strong rocker boxes which are essentially the frame rails. Body on frame cars have less strenght in such areas.

Ok dumb question,but does any body have any pictures of a six or an eight point installed in a el camino? I was wondering if I could run the rear bars under my rear window?

They have to go through the window, or it's not NHRA legal.

this is just for a local track not nhra. I would go through the window but the curved back glass would be very hard to plexie.
