summit hyd. cams?

i was looking at getting this cam for a mild Vortec combo.

this will be ran (eventually) with stock vortec heads, ls6 springs, 4.10 gear, 3-3500 stall th350, 1 5/8 longtubes (till i can bank for new schoenfelds), rpm intake, and 700dp or 750 vac carb.

does anyone have any imput on the summit cams? i'd really like to hear one run. this will be a street car... kinda. no heat, air, ps, wipers, or any creature comforts like that. this is a budget (bigtime) car, thats why i'm not jumping to a lunati or comp grind. lmk what you guys think, always open to comments and criticizms! ps, what should this car run on a 28x10.5 slick at 500' above sea level? thanks!

I have had the summit cams and they are actually crane cams. they work really well never had any problem with them. that cam you picked out is also good for nitrous, supercharged or turbos. i had the k1108, and mine would go like a scraed rabbit.
you'll be happy with that one.

i put that cam in a wagon with a flat top vortec headed 355 with a 3500 converter and his car runs 8.0s in the 1/8

thats good to hear! do either of you have sound clips? 8.0 in the 1/8th, thats what? high 12's in the 1/4? i dont translate times well lol. do these cams sound pretty healthy? thats part of the appeal for me. i want people to know i'm coming :twisted:

i'm pretty intrested in these cams too...for some reason i wonder why it's a 114 lobe seperation though...think that scaring me away for some reason...

those are perfect cams for power adders. i was using one with my b&m 162 blower and it worked awesome.

but you can definately, no doubt about it, tell its healthy. i'm probably going this direction.

paying for ls6 springs monday, have a performer (non rpm) intake to do me for a while, now all i have to do is find a motor... frickin outrageous! called a yard and they wanted 850 for a vortec with over 200K on it. wanted over 1k for one with 113k miles. think i'll get an older motor with mech. fuel pump provisions and find vortec's later. may try to pick up a 35-3800 stall monday as well. things are trying to come together

once it's running i will definately get a sound clip for everyone. hopefully within a couple weeks
