They are indeed a straight thread. Some people tap it for NPT, but I wouldn't trust myself to do it.

Ive auctually just tapped my case for NPT threads and the threads are so simaliar that your not really taking much out of the hole, just be nice and easy with it, run it in a little and pull it back out to clean the shavings out. do that a couple of times and your done.

Easier than you think really, just keep the shavings out of the trans

ive had two TH350's, both of which are pipe thread..at least i thought so lol

Very few are NPT 95% are not

A little grease on the tap will help keep the shavings out of the trans.
