When I bought my wagon it had 15x8 Crager Street Stars on the back with 3.5" back space and 275/60/15's on it. I tried a set of 15x8's Weld Rodlites with the same tire and 4.5" back space and the rubbed bad.

am i the only one who has never had clearance issues with 4.5" b/s rims? seems like about 50% of guys running those have problems. strange

do you have a stock length rear? because the 3.5" bs is the most you can do with a stock rear, no notch and 8" rim. 4.5" the rim would probably hit the frame

Yes, stock width. I also have a Moser 9" stock width to go in it later.

I think 3.5 seems to be the way to go.

Thanks.

I've got an '81 wagon and I had 4.5" backspace 8" wheels with 225/60's. It fit fine, but I was wanting to mount a 10.5 X 28 slick on it. After measuring, I could see there was no way that was going to work. So I got me a pair of 3.5 backspace wheels and mounted up the slicks. I hate the look. It looks like some kind of moon buggy the tires sit out so far. I guess I will have to narrow up the rear end and notch the frame. Jeez!
