I have water coming in behind my driver's seat and in front of the passenger's seat. I can't pin point either but I can look under the dash and see it dripping off a bolt going to the heater box for in front of the passenger. Any typical spots to reseal?

Thanks,

Quick edit here, this is on the elky.

Behind the drivers seat is a mystery to me,but as far as the passenger side front goes I have seen that before. What I found was the seal from the fiberglass heater box to the body of the car was brittle, the water runs down the windshield and goes behind the windshield chrome and then wiil run down inside the car.To check if that is your problem, try to remove the lower windshield chrome, pull the rubber hood seal back, then there will be a plastic piece on the passenger side firewall above the heater box(kinda looks like a net)that you will need to remove. After that your heater box seal will be right there, its almost like body putty.Sound like a lot of work but is only a few bolts.

Ya, I guess I should have said I checked the drain flap and it is clear. I changed the heater core about a year ago and don't remember how or if I sealed the top of the box. Good suggestions guys, I guess this weekend I'll pop the lid on it.

The driver's side has me stumped too because I just refinished my interior (changing to black rocks by the way) and while I had it out I checked for leaks around the side glass. I might try seam sealing the "trunk" area, perhaps it's coming from under there and running down. I had to weld in some patches on that side once I got the old carpet out so it's been going on for a bit apparently.

Thanks,

The water can also be traveling. The leak can be at the front left and collecting behind the front seat where the floor pan is lower. I suppose you could help diagnose by determining if the carpet padding is wet in other places.

I had water in my wagon, under the drivers floor mat...finally pulled the carpet out a few weeks ago and found a pretty decent sized hole in the floor right where the floor meets the firewall directly behind the E-brake pedal. Snow had been falling in melting and freezing all winter long..Hole is fixed now and shes water tight :)...just got to get motivated to put my new carpet in :(

I had a hole under the accelerator pedal but that area wasn't wet while the other two was. I'm going to seam seal the under bed storage and wait for another heavy rain.

On the driver's side, these cars leak at the base of the A pillar. Most of the time, there is a plastic sheet covering this part of the car to shed water. Look for pin holes in the seam sealer. I had pin holes, plugged them with silicon, and no more water inside.

I'm guessing the plastic is on the outside under the wiper trim area, is that correct?

Thanks,
