I had a lot of interest in it after posting it on craigslist. Only one idiot wanted to buy it for junk.

Yikes what? I didn't realize this :p Did the motor go with it?

No, and yes. He did take it with him, but next weekend, I am driving down to help him pull it out. I am keeping, my engine, trans, carb, distributor, and mufflers. Then I will be coming back home, selling the trans, and tearing the engine down.

Once it is back together, I will stick the engine in my new short bed 5 spd truck.

w00t :D Now that I've thought about it I do remember... I just got home from work so I'm not all there

What cam does it have? As of right now I'm planning on going with the GM hot cam. From what I understand it's good for 400hp/425lb.ft. in a Vortec-headed 350, so I'm hoping I'll be at least remotely close to that with the 383.

Has a comp cam 268X from what the builder told me. I have a GM hotcam and a edelbrock TBI intake at my buddies house that we did some trading on. I think I might stick those in big brown. I am thinking while I have the 385 torn down, that we will see if I can run a larger cam in it. I want it to sound, as my buddy would say, McNasty!

If I can find some good aftermarket heads reasonable, I might thrown them on it. I am hoping for 400-450HP. Same as what I was shooting for in the malibu, but now in a 4500lb truck!

I'll beg to differ on the weight :D I'm sure yours is close to the same, I think the weight on the site is with a 4.3. I'll guess another 50lbs. for a small block, and I'd imagine the NV4500 (is that the right one? I always get them screwed up) is close to a 4L60.

Not sure, haven't taken it down and put it on the scales. Big brown weighs 5200 lbs, and thats with about 1/4 tank in the 39 gallon money container.

I will try to reduce some weight on the truck without getting crazy with it. If I can get it around 3,800-4,000 lbs, I will be happy, that's about the same as a round body extended cab s-10.
