I have an 81 Malibu.. The whole car is extremely nice and clean but the motor has been together for years and years and it just needs gone through.

The engine is a 355 with forged bottom end, 9.5:1 compression, 882 heads with roller valvetrain, big solid lifter cam, single plane older Holley intake, 650 edelbrock avs carb, longtubes.

Trans is a turbo 350, manual valve body, 3600 stall
Rear End is a GN 8.5 drag springs, solid control arms, relocation brackets, girdle, 3.73s
Front suspension is tubular a arms, coilovers and drag shocks
My point being.. the rest of the car is ready for a pretty wicked small block, but this motor leaves a lot on the table.

Does anyone have any ideas for an off the shelf build up that is tride and true to make and honest 350whp. Not looking for anything but decent driveability but needs to sound good.

I have Vortecs and a Comp XE268H on my otherwise stock 350, abd it has a nice mild rumpity rump to it. Nothing near requiring a 3600 stall, pribably 2000 max if that. It's not quite 350rwhp though, probably closer to 300 is my guess. The article mine is based on made about 375hp. Bill in NC went low 13s with a 700R4 and 3.73s with the same combo.
