Ok,So I had an 85MCSS that when I got it had those solid american dish aluminum wheels 15x8 4inBS they fit great with 275/60 uniroyal tiger paws.3/4 in on the left and a good 1/2 or the right.Fast forward to the current 80 Malibu.Go to put the same combo and NO DICE.The tire sidewall hits the frame everywhere. So I put in 3in wheelstuds and a 1/2in spacer and all is good. This week I put the rear from the MCSS in the BOO with adjustable control arms and I was able to equalize the sidewall to frame gap on either side. The rear sits about 1/2in left of center in the car but the gaps are equal. Also after I changed the housing I had to roll the outer wheel lips to get them away from the tire.I used the same rear springs and the car is 1 1/4 lower than it was before. There were no spring rubbers or anything like that.I ain't complaining just throwing out some info. What should have taken 6hrs to change the rear took close to 4 days on the lift. The change from 2.29 open the 3.73 with a locker is pretty sweet though.
