The reproduction hinges do work well. My El Camino got hit several years ago and i replaced the door and hinges with stuff I bought from The El Camino Store. The new hinges works just like they're supposed to. I liked them enough to get new hinges for my regal, Sourced from Gbodyparts, I have not installed them yet but they look like the same manufacturer.

I just wonder what the longevity will be with the aftermarket stuff.
So much of the reproduction stuff is now made in China that it's hard to feel good about purchasing it.

Honestly, I think the will hold up just fine. They look identical to the originals and the fit and finish is as good as it was when the cars where new. I've seen low mile survivors and the original hinges weren't better than the repro ones on my El Camino. If it was something like a bearing, then I would be worried about Chi-wan-ese stuff.
