How wide is the widest front tire you guys run? And how did you get it to fit? I'm not a drag skinnies kind of guy and want it to grip and be tight in the front.

I had a 235 on there at one time, but I believ that, since I was using v6 springs at the time, when the car would drop over a bump, the inner fender wells would rub and eventually started to look like they could cut a hole if they hit hard enough at the right speed. Now I'm running a 205-60-15 and they seem so "economy car-ish" on my 8" rims. I think with my current v8 springs and the right shocks, even though I am putting 2" drop spindles on, I should have enough rigidity to keep the inner fender from rubbing again.
Isn't there a tool out there where you can check to see what the right size tire is for your car? Backspacing and diameter and such?

I've always run 235/60R/15's all the way around, but I recently put 255/60R on the back.

Never had any problem with 235/60R/15's on the front. I am getting ready to lower it with drop spindles. I'll let you know later how that works out if you're interested.

ya, that'd be great.

I remember when I used to run 235's all around. I loved the look. I'd like to run the same sidewall height all around but have quite a bit wider in the back. Not many people on here do that. Too many drag racers, not enough drivers.

I run 215/65/15s on all my cars .Its 26 inches tall and i get them with white letters. I also run 27inches on the back now IMO i think if i run 275/60 on the back i would go with a taller front also.

245/50/16 on mine all the way around, rub just a little but I havent put in my xh steering box yet to stop that. Once I do they wont rub at all.

The 79 I used to have had 235/60 15's on 15X7 ralleys with a 3 1/2 back space, all stock suspension, never rubbed any where but I always thought I should have larger wheels & tires on the back as it would have looked lots better but it was a daily driver and rotation is the key to longetivity as far as tires go,Later

Would it be a good idea to get a 7 inch rim on the front to accommodate the wider tire? or just stick with 8" all around?
