    SET-UP HELP

Hitting the space bar between sentences would be nice. dancin_banana.gif Anyway, could use some more info engine. Hp level, weigh etc etc. As a rule of thumb you want your lower arms to be parallel to the ground. I would start there. Depending on who/how the SSM plates were installed you...

Anyone do a-b-a testing with a tapered spacer /HVH sucker?

Thought I would share. Just got off the phone with Dean at Nickerson Performance (they built the 4150 carb). He uses the Canton version because of pricing and found little difference in performance. He suggested it will only get a few HP compared to the 2 stacked. He also said the big...

Anyone do a-b-a testing with a tapered spacer /HVH sucker?

When I dynoed my motor, we tried different carbs/manifolds and spacers. The best numbers we got with a 4150 on a Victor were with a 1" 4 hole spacer on top of a open 1" spacer. Since that was my best, I picked up a 2" HVH super sucker thinking it is "equal" to the 2 stacked spacers. Anyone...

    Fuel delivery vs consumption

Here is my "rule of thumb" that has not let me down yet. Take the GPH AT THE PRESSURE you are running times 4 for a dead head system and x 5 for a return style system. In my case, the engine dynoed at 625hp. I am running a Comp 140 pump which many a person has told me is too small. Comp has...

    Rear swaybar or not?

ls6 tommy is correct. I went from leaving like your avatar, to almost dead even (see pic lower right) by adding a 7/8 Fbody bar. Over the winter I picked up an HR&Stuff bar that will be going on in a week or 2. Nice thing about the bar, the leave was less dramatic. The driver can worry about...

How to widen front track width

Wouldn't a proper spacer do the trick? How far do you need to go? I run 205/75x15 and have one header outside the frame rail on each side. I get the slightest rub at lock. Just don't park the car with the wheel at full lock, hey what smells like burning rubber?

    Eibach springs

Yep, the silver ones. The car sat with it's rear up due to the weight loss. I tried 2 sets I had laying around and they ended up just right. I have been told by more then one person that they "will not work" on a drag car. :D

    Eibach springs

"I had a set for the rear and put them on my wagon, then promptly removed theml. They were wayyyy too low and were spongy." Yet, they seem to work well in a Cutlass drag car!

Fitting the cage for short people?

These car's frames need all the help they can get. If possible , continue the boxing from where the factory stopped , for the full length of the channel. Just plan ahead on fuel line, brakes lines , body mount access etc. There is always steroids.

They will only go in one way and, if i remember right, there is also a left and right only too.

    anybody run these?

I believe the straight ones are for an Abody and curved Gbody, atleast from ones I have acually used. The curve follows the curve of the floor. On the d/s things kinda kinda tight with the parking brake assem, fuel/brake lines, exhaust. A stamped steel one worked for the torque monsters of...

How to properly set the preload.

Are the front shocks set the same? Set the p/s to 90/10 and d/s to 70/30 so it is a little "harder" to lift , helps it lift more square. Got 1.46 60s that way with single adjustibles on the rear at 6 clicks (approx. 50/50),air bag at 7 psi, stock front spring and eibach lowering springs in the...

    anybody run these?

Those are a hi tech version of what GM put on 4 speed Abody cars. GM should have made them for Gbodys. Anyway, I have the Hotchkis version on my Drag car. The mounts are a known weak spot, so these help. I have another set that will be going on the wagon. I have never needed for them to be...
