I don't have a pic but you will need to set under the dash and on top of the column towards the firewall there will be a switch with two heaver purple wires coming out of it. disconnect them and run jumpers to your quarter stick BTW the smaller wires (green and white IIRC) are for your reverse...
FWIW I have a yellow top Optima and it cranks up even at -20. I think it's a 725CCA. but that's with the stock 305 and compression so low it would probably run on kerosene!
I had the same problem with my MSD the fix is to splice in a diode in the brown wire coming off the alternator, which is back feeding the MSD and and giving you the no shut down deal. As far as the starting I would look at the ignition switch on top of the column.
I just looked it up on a factory wiring diagram and "supposed to" go to the batt terminal on the starter but like the other guys said, constant 12 volts is all it needs.
