Some people run a special break in oil. I just run what I'm going to run in the motor.

I have ran the Fluidamper's and the ATI's never had a problem. Both are better than a stock style damper. For some reason the stock GM 400 dampers don't last like the internal balanced dampers. I won't even run a stock damper on a stock 400 motor because I've had so many of them go bad.

I guy I know has been 7.30s in the 1/8 mile in a street car and never had any problems I think the car was a foot brake. I broke 8 or 9 in one summer with a 4 speed most of them on the street I think my car ran in the high 7s at the time.

I have ran a set of 6" rods for 7 years in My dirt car. Think about it the Nascar guys have a ton of money and the run 6" or longer rods.

Do You have the pistons already? Don't worry about all the myths of a 400 running hot I have ran 400s for more than 15 years. If they don't run hot in a dirt car on gas they shouldn't run hot in anything. You may have to buy a good radiator and fan.
