    starter issue

I would take the bulkhead connecter off and clean the battery and starter contacts real good before screwing with a frame ground  It's easy to remove, just one 10mm head bolt on the engine side. Also double check the wiring connections at the starter switch itself and make sure they're...

What are my rear end options?

Rolling/trimming keeps the fender from possibly contacting and cutting the sidewall. I have aset of 17x9.5" tires with 275/40/17s and I'll be running about 4.75-4.875" backspacing (tire included). I seem to remember 5" or so to the frame (no notch) but I'd have to double check. I only hope I...

    starter issue

The firewall won't change anything, it goes battery+ -> fusible link -> firewall bulkhead -> ignition switch -> starter solenoid S terminal -> block (battery ground). Newer cars have a crank fuse that's like 5A, but I'm pretty sure G-Bodies never had one. Good battery ground tells me it's...

    starter issue

Possible wire/starter switch? If the S terminal is getting low voltage that's what I'm thinking. The flanges on the bolts should give a reasonable ground, but if the block is cleaned where the starter body mates to it that would be even better. If he used the starter body for a fround then...

    Pics of my 79 repaint

I think that original green would've looked good with the dark gray :)

    Pics of my 79 repaint

I saw an '07+ Silverado in a dark metallic gray, could've been the same.

What are my rear end options?

When you put a wider rear in it allows/requires more backspacing.

    Ok sounds good :D

    HVAC guys... R12 vs. R134 and other A/C ?s

Well I don't have the money to spend on going to an aftermarket system, maybe some years down the road. I have a finite amount of time to get this thing road-ready and some semblance of working A/C. Anything is better than nothing, I have an '87 Fiero that currently isn't driven on hot days...

    HVAC guys... R12 vs. R134 and other A/C ?s

That's a lot of good info \:D/ #1 - I remember seeing something about no legal stuff that can mix with R12 #2 - Is this the same as the accumulator? My brain is saying the silver canister right next to the evaporator. #7 - I don't know how many different compressors GM has used over the...

Tilt floor shift steering column... upper portion 'wiggles'

Re: Tilt floor shift steering column... upper portion 'wiggl The stalk has cruise, I'll double check that... I don't think I lost the springs? If I apply more-than-typical force it will stay, it doesn't just pop back to neutral.

Engine swap? What would you do?

I don't think there's a major issue with building a strong 2004R anymore with the Turbo Regal/GN guys running into single digits, but I'm pretty sure you'll spend a pretty penny compared to 700R4.

    HVAC guys... R12 vs. R134 and other A/C ?s

So since my '78 will be moving to Arizona to live with me eventually, it's getting A/C, no two ways about it. The closest place in Tucson to where I live right now that even touches R12 is close to an hour drive, so any time I would need it checked, serviced, etc., it would be a 2 hour round...

Tilt floor shift steering column... upper portion 'wiggles'

Re: Tilt floor shift steering column... upper portion 'wiggl  I thought they were harder to get to. It took me longer to make the lock collar tool than it did to put the balls in. Now I just have to either replace the turn signal switch or figure out why it's so hard to get to stay 'left'...

Where can I get some brushed aluminum trim for my dash??

I was going to say the same thing. Since most of those are just some type of overlay you can get quite crative if you really wanted to.

Cool thanks for the clarification :)

    Truck's brakes are acting funky

It's in Arizona, humidity is typically very low, except overnight if it starts getting close to the dew point (not very often). It hasn't happened in a long time though. I only park in a driveway occasionally now, more often it's out on the curb. I need to check the brakes anyway now, I've...

Tilt floor shift steering column... upper portion 'wiggles'

Re: Tilt floor shift steering column... upper portion 'wiggl I fixed it :) A few of the balls were missing so I stole one from a junk column and put everything together. All is well :)
