Does the bulkhead connector fit fine on the firewall? I want to go with a Painless, etc. harness one day because of the age of the harness but I'm not sure about that junction.
You can get a complete harness from a similar year G-Body and it will be an excellent start (the dash harness should be nearly identical on most G-Bodies). If you can get it from a u-pull junkyard you're probably better off... that or find one on Craigslist or eBay. Honestly the hardest part...
I don't know how much work has been put into your current wiring setup... but with an LS1 you could get the correct harness and simply control it with your PCM... or just add the pins needed to the harness. Besides that it's basically like any other trans swap... correct crossmember and...
I'm not a suspension genius, but wouldn't that only throw caster off? Also, lowering the car would've pushed the top of the wheel out... I don't know what else bolts to a G-Body frame but is it possible Spohn could've sent the wrong arms?
Yeah there are several vendors that carry those seals. I didn't follow Tommy's links but I've seen a few different places (Mike's Montes, etc.) that carry them. Some are SoffSeal, I'm not sure about the others. They're also on eBay.
Does Spohn make upper arms to go with their lower arms? If so I would see if they can get you a measurement and compare it with the Speedway arms, my guess is the Speedway arms are too short, but I couldn't say for sure.
Them doggone leaks!!! It's good to see you're gettin' stuff done :) My 4-speed seems to be wet all over, but I'm nit sure if it actually leaks. Besides that I only have a very small drip from the oil pan plug on the engine.
I put the driveshaft in and my dad & I mounted/aligned the trunk lid...
Are the bolt patterns different? I have a serpentine setup is why I'm askin', if the pulley will swap and the bolt pattern is the same as the integral reservoir version then I'm not too worried.
So I'm kind of in the dark when it comes to steering pumps. It appears to me they're basically the same from at least the early '80s up through the '90s, then they started using remote-reservoir units... but is the mounting bolt pattern still the same? I wouldn't mind running one with a remote...
Re: Wheel adapter thickness, 17x9(?) F/Y-Body wheels
So I finally bit the bullet (if anyone is reading this) and got some adapters. First time around was 2.5", but they didn't have the lip around the center to carry the weight of the wheel... goof on my end. Hubcentric adapters that also have...
Hey malibu795 did you wind up going this route?
If not here is what I've found on mine, seems only a few people have done this, at all. I'll start out saying mine are 17x9.5, not 17x9, and the tires are 275/40/17.
17x9.5 is a bust when it comes to lowering spindles. Where the wheel/tire...
I would only do the way 78 mentioned, for the reasons Tommy mentioned. There are a ton of cars riding around Tucson with plug & blind HIDs, and many of them are just aimed at the ground because otherwise they just blind everyone else. The 300ZX I had for a short time had those HIDs, and while...
No. I got into somewhat of a rush and didn't get my headers painted, just wire-wheeled. They still look a lot better than they did with the scaly rust though. I'm on the fence about going with ceramic coating again... if I do I may find a place in Tucson and see about getting my current...
Just cruising the forum and came across this. #4 looks like an ESC (electronic spark control) module. It's used with a knick sensor to retard timing if it's detected, I would have to double check the manual to see if those cars had them though.
