I don't think there is that much of a difference either, but I still wouldn't be surprised if there was a minor difference. I've also wondered about how much trouble it would be to stretch the fenders outward about 2-2.25" to clear the same wheels up front, which is about all that would be...
That does, thanks :) I probably wouldn't try it on a stock arm without some type of reinforcement, I'm just paranoid I guess. I remember a while back when 10secbu was working on dialing in an older setup with coilovers, he came down hard from a launch and messed up a lower a-arm... I think that...
Can anyone say with a level of certainty that they've gained wheel clearance on the back side of the a-arms with aftermarket/tubular setups? I'm trying to figure out a way to fit wider wheels with more backspacing in the front, to match the back.
This is one of the major hurdles us...
This looks like a nice solution for me... too bad it's way out of my current price range. Mine sits about right where I want it, but I'm at my maximum backspacing because of interference with the wheel/steering knuckle (2" spindles). I want to be able to gain a little more backspacing but due...
I'm just spitballin', it was an idea that popped into my head and I figure it's something I may try to do down the road. I'm just putting the original stuff in for now, this is something I'll look further into once I get it out to AZ.
I've been doing a little looking and haven't found any rear seat pictures of the 2+2 GPs... are they an actual 2+2 setup similar to the '80s Camaro/Firebird? I've been considering seeing if the rear seat bottoms from the F-Bodies would fit, and either putting some carpet in the center or coming...

That's what I have so far :)
Re: I need pics of Pontiac Super Duty type scoop on malibu h
This scoop?
Look up user DaveC, at least I think that's who I'm thinking of. He has a '60s Hemi scoop on his, looks pretty mean imo.
Dixie Monte Carlo has green door panels and the little cardboard filler panels next to the armrests under the 1/4 windows, I've seen carpet somewhere too. I was originally thinking an all black interior, but now I'm thinking about waiting to see if they start making 1/4 window trim. My lower...
I remember seeing them, it's just a question of where. When I'm back home I'll try to remember to check the typical sites (mikes montes, ss396, dixiemontecarlo, opgi, etc.).
I've kinda wondered the same thing. I cleaned the male side some by spraying Purple Power (or other strong degreaser) onto the bulkhead, letting it sit, then scrubbing it with a stiff bristled brush, repeating if necessary. I put dielectric grease on all the connections as well.
Thanks :) The lips on the rear need to be rolled/trimmed to clear the tire though, otherwise they'll slice the sidewall to smithereens. I'm really considering either some aftermarket lower a-arms to use with the springs (possibly with a tall balljoint or with some suspension drop built in), or...
It's sitting on its own in those oics, but I put some other wheels on the front for now. I don't want to risk messing up the fenders and unless I get a pair of regular spindles again I won't be able to run any more backspacing... it wouldn't make a major difference anyway because I would wind...
