What did U do to your G-body today??

Took 85% of what I'll be using suspension-wise off the '81 for the '78 today... just need the steering components and drivetrain (including crossmember, gas tank & radiator) to finish all the exterior stuff that will be switched over. I'm thinking of putting the '81 taillights on the '78 too.

What did U do to your G-body today??

It's part of the Eastwood chassis kit (about $130 on their site I think). It comes in a spray type bottle (no nozzle, just a lid), but from my experience I wouldn't try a spray nozzle again in a million years. The label says you can use an HVLP, conventional spray nozzle, or just brush it on, I...

What did U do to your G-body today??

Actually yesterday/last night... I finished installing the last of the control arm bushings and painted the lower control arms, and I got the rust converter on the frame - what a PITA!

    What size wire?

I believe the OE wire size is 10. I would use no smaller, but like Ed said a relay would let you run small trigger wiring, and likely carry more current. That's how I have my '81 set up right now, reduces the draw on the original wire immensely.

Aftermarket EFI... troubleshooting, diagnostics, and service

Re: Aftermarket EFI... troubleshooting, diagnostics, and ser Yup, but the most plug & play compatible setup for G-Bodies would be the regular EBL for TBI and a stock TBI harness, modified for port injection... or the SFI-6 version with a GN setup.

What did U do to your G-body today??

I welded some 1/8" plate in to reinforce the triangular braces at the rear crossmember, and rewelded a couple of the lower trailing arm mounts (some had hardly anything at all). I also welded some plate on the outside of the flat upper arm points, they're getting pretty crappy... I'll have pics...

What did U do to your G-body today??

Thankyasir  I have a few more pictures, just gotta upload. Today I painted the arms, and bent the front brake lines. Tomorrow I'm puttin' the arms back together and aiming to patch a small hole on the frame, then finish gettin' it ready for paint.

What did U do to your G-body today??

I was sleepy last night so I didn't get pictures up of what I did... Today I plan on cleaning/painting the blasted arms, maybe putting the bushings/ball joints in, and I'm also making a run to O'Reillys for another set of control arm bushings I ordered.

HELP!!!!!! BRAKE LIGHT/TURN SIGNAL with Race column

You would need a separate SPDT relay for each side. I don't have a way to easily make/draw a schematic right now so I'll just use one for the relay. V1 and V2 will be the trigger from your switch. Terminal B would come off the flasher (which has ignition-switched or constant 12v on the other...

What did U do to your G-body today??

Took out the lower balljoints and removed ALL the front arm bushings (that was fun ) in preparation for sandblasting. Plan to paint the top arms tomorrow and maybe put the upper bushings/ball joints in, and maybe bend some more brake line.

What have you put your 7.5" rearend through....

350-375+hp 350, 4-speed Saginaw. I've put maybe 2000-3000 miles on the car with the 4-speed, another 3000 at least when it had a Saginaw 3-speed. Haven't broken it yet and while I haven't babied it, I haven't shocked it too hard either. I will be putting new axle seals on and checking tbe axles...

What did U do to your G-body today??

Bending lines... I would've had the front lines bent the brackets where the hard line connects to the hose had disappeared. Picked up those and another upper passenger a-arm because mine was very thin (pinhole rust) from apparent dirt/crud sitting in the arm. I also got some misc. bolts I...

    Car is dead

I used a sidepost adapter that you use for car amps, it threads in like a battery cable stud, then a bolt threqds into that.

    Car is dead

Mine burned out in my '81 while driving down the road, I think one shorted against the heat shield. In a pinch I used 10 gauge wire, and extended each of the wires directly to the battery. Tommy & I posted back & forth in another thread about fuses, etc. in place of fusible links. I don't like...

What did U do to your G-body today??

Probably not around the washers, I boogered a couple of them some and may grind those a little. The patch I made on the frame is another story... The underside isn't too bad which really surprised me... the sides kept burning through and I'm still trying to get the hang of judging wire...
