With your tire size it looks like you're in the sweet spot for cruise speed, with your tire/gear combo you're around 2000 @ 60, 2200 @ 70. I looked at Crower's cams and you could probably step up one more level to the "mileage beast", it will give you some more oomph to boot.

I'm almost ready to get some adapters for my wheels... what do you think... hub centric or no? I've found both (more lug centric than hub centric) on eBay, but I'm thinking hub centric adapters would do a better job of helping carry the weight of the car.

I know exactly what you mean. The car was originally an auto so there isn't a shifter hump right now, but I don't have a console either.

FINALLY put the body of the '78 in the barn this morning, working on cleaning the interior floor off right now, need to do that and make sure the body mount areas are ready before setting it on the frame.

It's been a long time, I can't remember for sure, but can't you go through the back seat opening with a long extension to unbolt the latch? Should be 2 10mm or 13mm head bolts.
