Slight occasional miss, first actual misfire today

I haven't really messed with this lately as I picked up the Fiero and have been driving that a lot more to help save on gas... I bought the distributor off eBay when I built the engine, but never disassembled it... overall it looked to be in good shape. Any chance the ICM getting hot could...

    Serpentine belt swap

I don't have a compressor yet but I read the same thing I think... you're talking about the a/c lines correct?

New build ran but now wont run.

I wouldn't think you're getting advance from the weights at idle, unless you only have 1 light spring installed, and nothing on the other. Was the 20º with the rpms up, or with the vacuum line connected? Stock vacuum canisters can add quite a bit of timing.

New build ran but now wont run.

I do the same thing with lining damper up with 0º on the pointer, then line up #1 on the rotor/cap relation. Some find #1 compression, set the damper mark to whatever they want their initial advance to be (i.e. say you want 15º initial, usually a reasonable amount for a street SBC), then line...

    7.5 in rear

Good axles and a bearing support cover are your friends :) Put good parts in it and you should have no issue with it... I have a stock open high-miler 2.29 behind a 375ish hp/4-speed combo and it's been fine for the couple thousand miles I put on it, but I also don't beat on it (clutch dumps...

    REAR SEAT IDEAS

I like the looks of those... supportive without being too cramped. Something one of the other guys on here did was he used 4 buckets, similar to a 2+2 seating setup.

Rear disc brake bolt on kits.....

I would doubt backspace would change more than 1/8-1/4" since you would just be changing from drums to rotors. Some kits specify a minimum wheel size though, but as long as it's not a huge brake kit 15"+ wheels should be fine. I don't think it's the Summit kit, but it's a little cheaper and has...

Rear disc brake bolt on kits.....

Here's another... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RSD-AFXDS78/ The one you linked said it won't fit '82+ G-Bodies, though I have no idea why if it fits earlier years. RockAuto.com lists the same backing plate for the 8.5" as it does for many other models, so I'm inclined to think it would be...

Budnik Grand National Wheels (sorry if repost)

I believe they were originally a custom order for a guy on TurboBuick.com... they are not for the thrifty. http://www.paradise-road.com/wheels/budnik/grand-national.html

What did U do to your G-body today??

Woo hoo a couple G-Bodies saved :D I got a little motorvation yesterday... It's been wet/gray up here per typical Michigan winter/spring. The past couple days it's been windy but fairly dry, so the ground had been drying out. The '81 had a flat from just sitting, though the other day I did...

What did U do to your G-body today??

I started the '81 yesterday, for the first time in nearly a year. I looked at the bits and pieces of the '78 and was sad at the impending fact I may have to loosely throw it together and trailer it out to Arizona. That may not be a huge deal since my dad's '38 pickup has to be trailered too...

    Anybody build up a 229 V6?

Derp derp... Nevermind  On the other hand, there's a guy on Pennock's (fiero.nl) that built a 2.8, put a turbo to it and is pushing close to 400hp.

    Anybody build up a 229 V6?

There was that build that was run in Hot Rod & a couple mags several years back... They built a 4.3 with what I believe were swirl port heads, and it peaked around 300hp. I think with a bigger cam and Vortecs it could hit close to 350, but I don't think it would be very streetable. There is a...
