    Anybody build up a 229 V6?

For something you'd drive, look for around probably 300-350 tops, but that's starting to push it n/a. If you go turbo the sky's the limit, but don't expect it to be wallet friendly.

    Tbi won't fire????

When I rebuilt the 350 in the 'Bu I was shocked the thing even ran with all the slop in the chain

Come over to AZ :D It's much more lenient it seems, at least that's how it's seemed to be if you go to one of the facilities with guys that don't know much about what they're looking at. My truck originally started with the original 4.3 v6. Within a year of moving I had swapped a 383 in with...

Now if the smog testing wasn't as stringent you'd be set ;)

    Equus Gauges ( What U think )????

I'm considering some for the GP dash, I'll probably go with a couple of the typical gauges (volts/oil/temp) and stick my current Sun tach in for the drive out to AZ, and down the road put some nicer gauges in. The dash only had idiot lights so I can't even run gauges it came with.

flat topped pistons vs dished on 60 bore and gas effect

I would chamfer the edge too, basically you don't want to feel any edge anywhere.

round is your friend. No pronounced/sharp edges are best.

flat topped pistons vs dished on 60 bore and gas effect

193 heads are 64cc. They aren't the best for upper RPM but they make good down low torque... best guess is without pro port work they're only good for 350hp tops, and that's with home porting. Personally I'd stay under 10:1 and stick with as close to about .040-.045" quench as possible. What...

    Putting the I in IDIOT!!!

If it wasn't knocking then it's possible the engine is ok. Plus no oil on the dipstick doesn't mean no oil, it's just at least a quart low. See how much oil you need to add to get to the full mark, the 4.3 takes 5 quarts with filter I'm pretty sure. Also I can't remember, what heads are you...

I have an older Grant, similar to the 4-spoke. Like Streetbu it's comfy for me when I'm just pluggin' along down the road.

    TPiS ?

More or less, especially if the current car didn't come with EFI and it was added after. In that case you can probably transfer everything over electrical-wise fairly easily. I want to go with an OE look on mine whenever I put EFI on it, so it won't be as simple.

    TPiS ?

Besides the EFI harnessand required sensors on the engine I don't believe so.

    TPiS ?

Oh you won't have much issue then... if you're up for it you can swap in all factory EFI stuff for the fuel system (in-tank pump, inline filter, etc.).
