Difference in drop spindle, and drop springs

I don't think anyone was arguing the point, just looking at it from different points of view. I did go back & read your post again, and he is looking to lower it slightly (and it also looks like he's trying to keep weight transfer up as well), so spindles would be the sensible choice. Have...

Difference in drop spindle, and drop springs

I believe most of the time launches suffer is because most of the time the car is lowered with stiffer springs, which allow less stored energy for the launch (taller, lower spring rate springs will help transfer weight to the rear better, but affect everyday driving to a point). I honestly...

Difference in drop spindle, and drop springs

Unless the ball joint distance is different between the original and drop spindle, I don't see there being any difference in spring compression. The shaft the rotor rides on is basically moved up 2", I don't know if anything else is changed on the spindle.

'78 has the unique spindle/steering box.

Difference in drop spindle, and drop springs

Agreed. The ride will be slightly softer with the stock springs, but you can change that by installing some stiffer springs.

    Paint chips - '78-'88

There were some pages for other cars and trucks/vans I omitted from the site I found them at (http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/). Also, '82-'84 listed the same colors. Be sure to look at the photo album, many more than what I posted...

    Rack and pinon

Have you guys ever considered a quick-ratio type power unit? I think it'd be cool to have a correctly-sized rack like that for these cars.

    Rack and pinon

That was my thought, but I wasn't entirely sure on the inner workings of r&p. I figured it was similar to the original center link on the G-Bodies (just encompassing the steering box/idler arm in one unit), but wanted a second opinion before I'd say anything.

Some on here are using r&p, but I think they're aftermarket manual units on race cars.

    Speedway Heim Bushings ! ! ! !

Sweet :D I've seen them, just hadn't really considered ordering them yet. Far as movement, I think I'd personally want it to move more freely, and run a stiffer set of shocks.

    WIRE PROBLEM?

Ground :D Most likely the power for the cluster. Make sure all 4 nuts that hold the cluster in place are tight, and the connection between the cluster and its harness is clean. Follow all black wires from that plug and make sure they're grounded well. I did this and it stopped all but...
