    high beams

The turn signal lever pushes a rod that goes to a switch further down on the column that switches between low- and high-beams. Same with your ignition cylinder/switch.

    Ordered oil pan today

Crap... and the frame I have has already been cleaned :? If this is the case I may trade somebody for theirs :P

    Info please

The EFI stuff isn't hard, but in the end you'd actually wind up spending more on it. With the carb you're about $600+ (if you have a carb) plus the cost of adding an electric fuel pump.

    Info please

A little tip if you want to keep the acceleration and get better mileage, use a stock 200R4 crossmember/trans/driveshaft (may not matter since you have an 8.5) with the FE100 (I don't see why this wouldn't work) from G-Force (http://www.crossmembers.com): This will let you run the crossmember...

    Hydroboost people!

What you would ideally be looking for is actually a longer stroke. With a larger bore MC you'll have to apply more pressure at the pedal to get the same amount you were getting at the cylinders/calipers. You may want to look into a different booster, though you did say your foot was to the...

    Total Frustration.....

$264.95 Exchange, plus another $295 for a core charge (no charge if you send your pan). I don't see anything about which oil pan (looks like an F-Body if you look at the very front of it, the drainback area isn't as deep as a truck pan), I sent them an e-mail to find out though.

    flex fuel 5.3 swap

IMO you won't fully see the E85 benefits without building a purpose-built motor. I'm sure you've read of people making stupid power on it (cost vs. cost with race gas). This month's Car Craft has an article on a turboed 3rd gen Camaro, and the owner's hoping to hit 1,000rwhp (already around...

    RETAINING ELECTRONIC GAUGES

Far as I know the sensors & everything should be the same. Just cross-reference the sensors from the 4.3 to the sbc... should be the same... and if they are, just use them in the new motor :)

    Some LS info (link)

Will do, I wasn't sure if there would be any issues or not with that. I'm really hopeful I'll just be able to use the ones already on the car.

    Some LS info (link)

From Street & Performance, lots of LS links on one page (from wiring info to diagnostics): http://www.hotrodlane.cc/New%20LS%20Links%20Page/LS%20links%20page.html Page where they swapped an LS into a GN: http://216.25.99.66/Buick%20Regal/ls1grandnationalpg1.htm...

    Drop back and punt

The only reason I mentioned without A/C is I'm not sure how it interferes with the frame. If it fits, then by all means! I'll definitely be keeping it then.

    LS Accessory drive

Posted in the 'drop back & punt' thread, but thought I'd go ahead & post it here too. The Y-Body ('Vette) accessory drive looks like it may fit without causing issues that the truck setup does. shrug.gif

    Drop back and punt

I just did some looking (good luck finding it though...), what about the Y-Body accessory drive (w/o A/C)?

    No headlights or dash lights

    Probably just corrosion then ;)

    Drop back and punt

I recall something about using the Malibu tank with the TBI sending unit. Is this true? I understand there won't be any baffling, but when you're on a budget and you're just dipping your feet in the EFI waters...

    No headlights or dash lights

The round dealies  are the flashers. Now your blinkers will work :roflback: Far as the headlights I would first use a voltmeter after finding out which terminal is for the headlights, and if that's ok, I'd run a +12v line to the wire for the headlights verifying the wiring is ok there.

    Drop back and punt

I await your details ;) Thinking about trying an LS in the '81 so if i royally screw things up I won't have to worry so much about things down the road.

4.3 Throttle body tank in Ls1?

I don't believe this would work, I've changed the pump/sending unit in a '99 Subur... nevermind  maybe it was changed for '99... Anyway, a '99 won't work because the pump is integral with the sending unit.

    Some carbed LS1 info

Are you talking about these two? If so then no, the 2nd one is for adapting to the factory EFI harness somehow (I don't know much anything about the details on it, whether the factory computer is needed, etc...). The first one may be needed to plug everything in, but I think it's more for if...
