    Anti-theft: the Ravelco

That's why I said I'd do my own. If I know where everything is, it'll make things much easier. I would, however do it with a newer vehicle, probably something like one of the fullsize trucks already with an LS motor.

    Anti-theft: the Ravelco

Each one is a unique setup. Part of the success is the guy that does it is somewhat secretive about the whole process, and I think he's rightfully so. If people knew what went where (I might do one of my own just so I know what's what), it would be easier to steal.

BRP LSx swap kit for g-bodies

Been doing some parts perusin' and came across Year One's kit... $642.00 for their kit (PN BG984) I'll probably go with a set of shorty headers if any (starting to contemplate a turbo ) with my project.

One issue resolved, another pops up... (Part 6)

Yeah, I remember he was doing them (I think) on a case basis. I have an article somewhere around here talking about the different pans, and with mine I may just go for a shorter factory pan (IIRC they said the C5 or C6 ones would fit), and see if he would be interested in buying the truck pan...

    142 blower?

I believe so, someone on here has a small block with one, but I don't know if he has a cowl hood. *edit* He goes by Damon here on the board.

    Carbed LS Swap?

X2 on the pump/carb... On the converter, you may be able to use the OE style 4L60E converter from your car (so long as you use lockup, not sure what all is doable/required there) for the LS motor. Horsepwraddict(sp?) can probably point you in the right direction, he seems happy with the...

    6.0 Drive by Wire

I feel like a dolt saying he went drive by wire, but he said it's cable drive  #-o Definitely looks simple enough to install though

    Got some exhaust manifolds

Paint the shields black (if you can find a good paint that'll hold up to the heat)... it'll help match the black engine bay a little better 8)

This is the look I want when we get finished:

I've always thought this car looked good :D I noticed he had it up for sale recently :( You're lucky to have a '79 as opposed to '78, the '78 and '80 grilles aren't repro'd currently, but the rest are. I look forward to seeing this finished :D

    6.0 Drive by Wire

Philip is doing drive by wire, check out his Father/Son build threads. I wouldn't be surprised though if you can find a place that does aftermarket setups for drive by wire.

    6.0 Drive by Wire

Personally I'm not a huge fan of drive by wire, I just don't care for the feel of it.

    6.0 Drive by Wire

For drive by wire I'm guessing you'll need to get a cable drive TB, the correct cable (granted), have the computer calibrated for it, and you'll probably have to add something to the harness for a TPS.

Father/Son '79 Malibu project has started! (Part 1)

I'm guessing you haven't even thought about the interior yet? I'm still curious about that dash ;)

    ?'s on swapping the 5.3 or 6.0 into a g-body

In short: You can fit the motor and keep AC/heat You will need a different driveshaft if you use a 4L60E/80E/T56/etc. Aftermarket harnesses are available to make the swap easier (Speartech and Painless come to mind, but they're not cheap) I don't believe actual G-Body headers are available...

Part 3 - New motor is home

I'm all for it! ;) I'm excited to follow this build m'self, seeing as your son is. It makes me think forward 12 years to my boy & I workin' on his project (at the rate he's going, it'll be more like 6 years ).
