Pink/black wire is a switched source, but I'd run a relay for the box.

I was reading the article on that 6.0, and the thing put out 439/424 tq/hp peak :shock: The cam added 15/57 to that peak, I'm sure a slightly milder cam would give a nice trade on that hp/tq number. Remember this is a bone stock 6.0 with a GMPP intake and 750 Holley with headers. Crap... If...

As far as the stalk goes you would check for continuity, except for the delay part, I'm not sure how that works.

Mine's out of a Monte, I believe it's original, the rest of the car looked original.

I bought Energy Susp. for the '78, wound up not putting them in (bought them for putting the car back on the frame to trailer it home), but I'll most likely still use 'em when I build the car.

If you're going for a 5.3 iron, I might shoot for the 6.0, just because it's that much more motor, and you can probably get one for near the same price. X2 on T56, they're stronger stock-for-stock against a T5 :D I forgot to mention in that article they retained the factory tune and injectors...

Car Craft did an article on a 5.3, with a Lingenfelter cam the power peak jumped nearly 100hp. I believe you might be near 400 easy hp with a cam.

Yeah, for some reason the trucks were always a step or two behind the cars :lol: The cars got TBI first, SFI, the LS motors... :lol:

In stock form there's not a huge difference in power between the 4.8 and 5.3, there is more potential, and some more torque with the 5.3, but stock for stock I don't think it will be extremely noticeable, probably just a little less down low torque than the 5.3, and you can usually make that up...

X2 :lol: You don't need a lot of power to do something stupid (or to speed)! In any case, maybe you should make a run to the strip to get an idea what this type of combo would net, just as a baseline for the LS-series G-Body :lol: ;)

It's a little late now I know, but I plan on taking my son out a couple years before he ever sees driver's ed. My dad did it with me the first time when I was 12 or 13, and I'm thankful for it :D

Sweet :) Sounds like you went to the right place, he sounds like a nice guy. It's all good on the 4.8 ;) just paves the way for when he's ready for more power... drop in a 6.0 or LS7 and he's good to go :twisted:

Well, all the wire but the several inches (with a terminal at the end) behind the cluster was new, so I don't believe that could be the case. I'll give the filter a try after things warm up.
