im looking at ordering engine mounts to put my 5.3 into my 81 malibu. i will be bolting it to my th350 and the th350 to my iceman cross member. my question is which mount do i need? the stock location mounts? or the 1 inch set back mounts for it to bolt up to my cross member? any help would be...
well i got it figured out, had to tape the 2 wires in the distributor that connect to the little harness. they must have been grounding out. thanks for the help fellas.
forgot to mention that yes i grounded the distributor to the firewall. and the pink wire is the wire that plugs into the spot on the dist that says bat. i tested it and its live when i turn the key on and turn the motor over.
alright guys i just installed a brand new msd 6al2 in my bu with a stock hei distributor. ive checked the wiring many times and it all apears right to me, but i have no spark. here is how i have it wired.
thick red to positive battery
thick black to negative battery
thin black to negative on...
hey guys i have a taurus fan in my malibu i believe i used 14 guage wire to run from the fan to a 50 amp switch under my dash then from the switch to my battery, the problem is the switch under the dash gets so hot that it will burn my finger if i touch it, what do you guys reccomend i do to fix...

thanks guy's, cleaned all the sockets and they startred to work off and on the cleaned the ground and harness in the trunk and they work all the time now. are your signal lights slower when you have the park/ headlights on? mine are about 1 to 2 seconds slower with the lights on, just wondering...
i have a problem with my signal lights on my 81 malibu. they work fine when i have no lights on (actually they seem a little slow but still work) but as soon as i turn my park lights on the the arrow just stays lit up as if i have a burned out bulb (which i dont). anyone come across this before...
