Hooker says they should fit. Do you have heads with raised exhaust ports, which may affect fitment?

Hooker 2241 aren't made anymore. Did you get them used and perhaps they were modified? or are not really 2241?

i bought them like 8 years ago - brand new in the box. i did have to grind down the flanges for my head studs to clear . im tired of messing with these ive removed the engine at least 7 times ive tried different mounts they just wont fit. i have been turning wrenches for 30 years . im thinking it was a manufacture flaw. the heads are steel 049's and a 80's era block. do you know of a company that makes them for this application?

Me too; I have been turning wrenches since the late 1970s. It sucks that the headers are made to fit and don't. I fully understand the frustration.

When I searched for BBC headers for a 1979 Malibu, Summit Racing appeared. They have 3 listings for Doug's Headers.

This forum used to have tons of threads, but the previous owner "pruned" threads over time, only saving some, so a lot of information is lost. A good source of data, that doesn't delete threads, is montecarloss.com. I am a member there. The built-in search only searches the last 2 years, so you need to search the site with a third party tool like Google, using a search like
BBC Headers site:montecarloss.com

Since Doug's may be the only current source, a search for reviews of this particular header may prove fruitful.

The owner of montecarloss.com recently had to make viewing threads only accessible to users with accounts due to being overwhelmed with bots. While it may be a pain to maintain a new set of logon credentials, many of the members are old timers with encyclopedias of knowledge.

I am not trying to take people away from this forum. Both are very helpful.

i greatly appreciate your help, i will definitely look int that website. i did however speak with a lady at lemons headers and awaiting their call back. its a little pricey - 2600 for custom made ceramic coated but i plan on keeping my car so i believe its worth the cash. ill keep you informed on how everything goes if i go that route and ill post pictures

Lemons is a very good, reputable brand, and Yes, they are pricey but are supposed to fit very well. Back in the day of monte-list.nu, there was a guy (he's dead now) with Lemons headers. The AC box can't be used and one tube goes over the frame rail.
