4.3 head question

Of the available 4.3 vortec head which is the best. Are there any orginal aluminum 4.3 heads out there? I know about Brodix but I looking for something more towards my budget. It's not going in my Bu, My 2.8 Blazer was passed by a kid on a tricycle and it's time to do something about it. Besides the fact it gets about 16mpg, why not swap to a 4.3.

There was never an aluminium head option for the 4.3 offered on any factory vehicle to date...

Depending on which intake you have or get, use the 96+ Vortec heads. You will need a specific 96+ vortec intake manifold from Edelbrock if you want to run a carb. The intake bolt patern is different between the 85-94, and the 96-current heads/intake. If you have the old style manifold, use the 92-94 L35 heads with a mild port job, and bowl blend. the Brodix heads are a fortune used, and rare. GMPP makes alum heads and blocks but they are even bigger $'s.
