I have an 8.5 corporate leaf spring rearend and would like to stick it in my malibu wagon. My only problem is that the 8.5 is leaf spring and the malibu is of caourse coil spring. Has anyone ever fabbed and 8.5 up to work with the trailing arms and coil springs..if so how much of a pain is it or would it just be easier to find an olds 8.5 to stick in it? Thanks in advance!

Not impossible but, darn close. Welding UCA mounts to the Cast Iron housing is the problem. "Very" difficult + that's a high stress/torque area. Best to find a G-Body 8.5" rear. A 9" Ford would be easy, it's Center section is Steel.

Much better choices out there to choose from. YOU NEED SOME SORT OF UPPER CONTROL ARM MOUNTING AREA. 1973-1996 A-B BODY WILL WORK. OLD 1964-1972 GM A-body are also good place to go. I can build you a housing for 250.00 if you want. Jim
