there is definately alot of extra measures to take when running that level with stock parts that are 30+ years old.

sorry to hear you had problems.

Time for a Pontiac motor. ;)

That background looks familar , where are you from?

My car was doing the same thing.

I ditched the 90/10 for QA1s, thanks for the advice Todd!

Also added my own rear sway/anti-roll bar.

60' only increased .02 to a 1.44, but the car leaves straight and flat.

Now ( springtime) I can play with getting it out of the hole faster.

I just watched the videos and( IMO) When gets to the top of suspension the motor seems to die for a split second at least that what it sounded like.

Perhaps the instant center is wrong. Stock IC on these cars is horrible. Obviously has enough raw power to pull the front but it's unloading midstream. Are your rear control arms all mounted at the stock points? Just reread about the problem, sorry to hear that.

looks like my old car, but i went 8.30, is your fuel system keeping up, the G at the start of a run are high sends the fuel back to the tank, fuel bowl go empty, fall on it face, then it catches up, fill the carb and you finish the run, watch your fuel pressure at the start of the run. call or email 773 469 0011, [email protected] check my web http://www.starperformancemaint.com welcome_sign.gif

Just now saw this thread and im wondering if the lift bars could be causing problems.I know of a couple guys that had that problem after putting more power in there car. They work well on lower power cars then u up the power and they make the car stand straight up then unload.Try a set of regular aftermarket lowers instead of lift bars and see if it helps.

what you have is now of which is posted on here about why your car is only 60 ft'ing 1.58... if the car is dead hooking and hanging the tire or front end as high as it is the car is hooking...
My question is your stating your making 575-590 HP,,,,with that amount of horsepower you should be running e.t. wise in the 10.30s but yet your mph isn't reflecting those numbers nor does your 60 ft even if you were to drop a tenth in the 60....

As for running stock blocks,,as i said before the devil is in the details of how a machine shop prepps the block for its intended purpose.. ;)
