Mounted my BBC into the 80 elco today and thought WTH, I'll try em. I have a set of BBC truck exaust manifolds,
found in 1/2T + up to motor homes .I put them on as the motor was going in w a couple bolts and D_mn! They fit like a factory job. Common as nails and usually pretty cheap, the air pump nozzle styles in particular,(simply remove the nozzles and plug w pipe plugs. Sometimes they are not so simple to get out you may need heat.) Now I can route my exaust then DRIVE the car while saving for headers OR just wait for a reasonably priced NON leaker (tick, tick, tick)set to be released
OR have these CNC ported like the Mopar stock race guys do. Probably the later. Not all of us like the noise, leaks and durability issues headers inherantly have. No I am NOT a beginner ,just getting old. I guess I am tired of all the racket under the hood and in the car. 30-70 bux a set compared to 500 clams makes this pretty attractive.

I have heard that L88/LS6 Vette manifolds work. However they are hard to find and expensive when found ($399+) Disregard the nasty underhood .Its is a setup and test fit phase. The swap itself is a great fit. w Valve setting or VC gasket changes easy. I did NO changes straight bolt in using factory SBC mounts, lots of room forward for a long W pump , But I am using a Diesel radiator, short pump and a dual electric fan myself. Funny thing is the front dropped about 1" of course that is w/o the carb/Air cleaner, radiator, alt, belts and Antifreeze. Power steering and AC have been removed.

Good to know they fit so well. I still have the stock manifolds off my original 454SS truck's engine (same style you used). I held onto them "just in case" like I do almost everything else. Who doesn't have a soft spot in their heart for a cheap big block install?

I was going to give my manifolds away free, but now the price is $50! GUARANTEED TO FIT 78-87 G-body with big block. Heh heh.

BTW- if you want to get rid of the inside part of the air tubes just grab with vice grips and bend back and forth until they snap off. Lots of times the inside tubes have already broken/burnt off on a high mile engine anyway. You find them in the front of the catalytic converter.

Corvettes and big trucks, like two ton trucks with 366, 427, and 454's.

Some have 2 1/2" outlets seems like there are some with 3" outlets too, might be a myth.
