I bought a used 8" Fluidampr for a 400 SBC used at a swap meet about a year ago. I'm getting ready to rebuild my 383 with a Scat 9000 series cast steel crank. I then read on Scat's website they recommend not using a fluid type dampener.
I did a search on thirdgen.org it's about a 50/50 split. Some guys swear by them, others wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole.
Use it or just get a new stock type balancer? Primary use is an under 6000 rpm street motor.
